AWS has two distinct cloud platforms, AWS Global and AWS China, each designed to cater to the needs of different regions. AWS Global is the standard Amazon Web Services platform that is available worldwide, while AWS China is a localized version of the platform, provided in partnership with Sinnet, and is only available in China. AWS Global also offers a range of compliance services, including SOC, PCI, and HIPAA.
In AWS China, identity and access management services are provided by Amazon IAM, but with some differences in features and performance. Data protection services are not currently available in AWS China. Compliance services are also limited in AWS China and do not include all of the services available in AWS Global.
Both AWS Global and AWS China offer a range of networking services, including content delivery, DNS, and network connectivity. However, there are some differences in the specific services offered and the features available.
In AWS Global, content delivery is provided by Amazon CloudFront, which delivers data, videos, and applications to customers with low latency and high data transfer speeds. DNS services are provided by Amazon Route 53, which provides scalable and highly available domain name system (DNS) services. Network connectivity is provided by Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), which enables customers to launch AWS resources into a virtual network that is isolated from the public internet.
In AWS China, content delivery is provided by Amazon CloudFront, but with some differences in terms of the types of content that can be delivered and the regions that are supported. DNS services are provided by Amazon Route 53 but with some differences in terms of features and performance. Network connectivity is provided by Amazon VPC but with some differences in terms of the network infrastructure and routing.
